He was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3, and has been attending nerd-related conventions since his senior year of high school, in 2010. He is the author or co-author of five autism-related books, and currently hosts panels on various forms of disability awareness at anime, pop culture, and My Little Pony cons throughout the United States, wherein he sometimes serves as a staff member or at-con volunteer. He volunteers for the athletic teams at Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois. Finally, he is a member of Wisconsin’s Community of Practice on Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Disabilities.
